Introducing...
The Woolly Brigade.

A table, some yarn, and good company

Sometimes what we need most is a seat at a welcoming table.
The Woolly Brigade is a relaxed knitting and crochet gathering for our local community in and around Wetherby. Bring whatever you're working on, settle in with a drink, and enjoy a couple of unhurried hours of stitching and conversation.
Social first. Creative second. Always relaxed. Room to grow.
I’m currently gathering interest before confirming the venue and regular day, so if this sounds like your kind of thing, I’d love to keep you in the loop.
Once we begin meeting regularly, there will likely be a small contribution to cover room hire and refreshments — nothing formal, just enough to keep the table warm and the kettle on.
A Glimpse of the Woolly Brigade.

What a Woolly Brigade gathering might feel like

Bring Your Own Project
Working on something already? Bring it along and stitch at your own pace — no set projects and no pressure to keep up.

Easy conversation
Swap patterns, ask advice or simply enjoy stitching quietly alongside others.

Your comfort
Settle in with a drink and enjoy a couple of unhurried hours around a welcoming table.

Optional charity makes
If you’d like, you can join in creating small knitted or crocheted pieces for charity — entirely optional and always relaxed.
Who comes along?
• Knitters and crocheters of all abilities
• Beginners who’d like gentle encouragement and a friendly place to start.
• Those looking for a local knitting/crotcheting group near Wetherby
• Anyone who enjoys mindful making and good company
You don’t need to be experienced, fast or particularly confident — just willing to come along.

A Relaxed Regular Gathering
This will be a simple, welcoming get-together — starting small and seeing where it leads.
Come as you are, with whatever you're working on. Stay for an hour or two — there’s no pressure and no expectations.
From time to time, I may also host special creative workshops — relaxed events for learning, sharing ideas and learning ideas and expanding your repertoire over tea and cake.
If you’d like to see what’s in the works (or suggest something you’d love to learn), you can explore the workshops here.
